Words for your Wedding

7.1.  TRADITIONAL

Minister: No other human ties are more tender, no other vows are more sacred that those you are about to assume.  You are entering into the holy estate of matrimony, which is the deepest mystery of experience, and which is the sacrament of divine love.  GROOM please repeat after me:

I GROOM take you, BRIDE to be my wedded wife,, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part, and to you I pledge my faithfulness.

I BRIDE take you, GROOM to be my wedded husband,, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part, and to you I pledge my faithfulness.

7.2.  CONTEMPORARY

I GROOM take you BRIDE from this day forward as my wife, partner and best friend.  I promise to take you to my heart, as you are, and as you will become.  I promise to walk by your side and support your dreams, and be more in love with you tomorrow than I am today.

To live with you and laugh with you; to stand by your side, and sleep in your arms,

To bring out the best in you always  and to be the most that I can.

From this day on I choose you, my beloved GROOM, to be my husband

To live with you and laugh with you; to stand by your side, and sleep in your arms,

Ring Exchange Samples

9.2 Contemporary

These beautiful rings are a symbol of longevity in the marriage covenant.  The circle of the ring symbolizes the never-ending circle of love and commitment that you are making here today.  Always see the best in each other, and for each day that you are together, when you look at the beauty of these rings, may they remind you that the love that you have for each other, is forever.

Groom, Repeat after me.

Bride, I give this ring to you as a sign of my love.  I give myself to you as your husband.  From this day forward, you shall not walk alone.  I vow to love you and sustain you in the union of our marriage, for as long as we both shall live.

9.3.  CONTEMPORARY

The two of you will doubtless be separated from each other on occasion, either by time or distance.  These rings are going to be present with you always.  May they serve as a subtle, simple, but most significant reminder of the reality of the love which you two share, have just promised to each other, and is indeed, ever present with you.

(Minister to Groom): Please repeat after me…

Taking your hand, bride, I give you this token of my love.  Knowing that love is precious and fragile, yet strong.  Accept the gift of my  heart and soul.
